on the outside of power head of 2026 and 2028, it got two side slots left and right. the two slots you can hold using your hands when you remove the power head. i found there is water leaking inside the left slot. it got accumulated then water leaks out once it's full. i suck the water out using an injector but it got filled again after 1 day. quite puzzle me bcos i cant figure out where is the leaking point.

it happened when my tank water level is very high. probably pressure is too high. the leaking stops when the water evaporate and level drops to 3 cm below the tank edge.

    anyone got this problem before?

Ask Ehiem, they'll give you an advise, could be the pressure, could be the O ring inside the basket, could be anything i believe .

I don't fill the water to the brim of the tank normally, usually leaving quite a gap, since if i need to maintain my tank it'll overflow once my hand dips in.

This could be a good question for Ehiem. Just ask them, they're very friendly and prompt regarding service.
    Cheers!

Could be the 2 small O-ring problem that has been frayed while you put back the intake/outlet piece. Remove and check if the O-rings are damaged.

I had this same problem when i bought my Atman 3337 not too long ago. At first it was ok, but about a month later, after i installed an external reactor then came the problem. Both sides will be filled with water and it will start to drip down the canister after about 3 or 4 hrs later. If you feel the top portion of the left and right slots with your fingers, you'll notice that there is a joint line. I think the joint line is not joined properly and because of the pressure, the water start to leak out.
But do let us know what eheim have to say about this problem. I curious to know as well.

right. i think we have the same problem. i have an external reactor as well. it's not related to O-ring or intake/outlet rings because the joint line you mentioned is part of the power head. it's factory fitted and non-maintainence part of the cannister. the water is leaked out from the joint line.

ok yesterdayi did a check. there are four screws on/below the power head. i found out the screws are pretty loose(i never open the power head before) so i tightened them. there are at least 2-3 rounds space i could tighten. tightening the screws definitely compressed that joint line. so far 10 hours passed, there is no sigh of water leaking inside both slots.

    hope this helps.

Great to hear that you got it working again! For me when the leak happened i was quite frustrated due to the hassle of going to the shop to change it but what the hell, the filter is very cheap and i didn't expect much from it either. As for you, i can imagine how you felt especially when you spent so much money on a branded filter. Anyway thanks for sharing, learnt something new in the forum again!

Great to hear you settle the problem.

    have the same problem before.

once is the O-ring problem at the in/out and the the tap unit is faulty

another time is the orange o ring in the priming area broken.

I would also like to add that recently my hand ichy and i went to adjust the inflow tap of my canister filter smaller by 1/3. I could hear creeking sound from the pump/filter head presumably due to the build up of pressure in the filter head. When i turn the tap back to normal. The creeking sound stopped. The same thing happened when i turn the outlfow tap smaller.

From this "experiment" my conclusion is this : NEVER adjust the inflow or outflow of the filter smaller because the flowrate is too powerful for your tank size cause the pressure will build up in the filter and over time it will cause the filter head to leak at the joints. If you must, use a rain-bar and point the holes of the bar to the glass where the bar is attached and not towards the opposite side of the rain bar.
