Hi, I am new to planted tanks, so I have decided to keep things as simple as possible. Right now, I am keeping difformis for my tank and they are growing very well with little maintenance, a few mls of liquid CO2 and enough light seems to do the trick and abit of pruning every week. I would like to know if there is any other plants that are just as easy to keep, preferably local species.

    Cabomba sp.
    Java fern
    Anubias barteri var. Nana
    Duckweed

None of them local though. Difformis isn't local. But if you meant whether these plants can be bought locally... yes you can.

Hygrophila polysperma, Frogbits, Riccia, Java moss, Bacopa spp., pelia... Pelia is local, if I didn't remember wrongly... Err... is the H. polysperma local?

But actually, to each his own... For example, I simply cannot keep nanas under water... And some find some crypts damn easy to keep... I also find Cabomba spp. damn difficult to keep... while Limnophilia sessiflora, a similar plant grows like crazy...

IMO, a cool water temperature is important to grow most plants easily...

thx for the advice, btw does Bacopa spp turn purplish at the tips, I have seen some of them change colour when they come out of water. Also my tank is normally 29 to 27c. Not by choice, but my house gets direct sunlight (dun worry not my tank), but it can get warm in the day especially during a hot day. so I need to keep plants that can take such heat, I heard bacopa and difformis are good at this.

Tried using fans? My tank water temperature is also around 26-28.5C... Most plants should be ok at those temperatures... Java fern is good too... I have some in a tank lit (and heated) by the afternoon and evening sun... Still going strong...

Some Bacopa sp.'s flowers are purple... and yes, they can withstand high water temperature... I have them in my vivarium and the temperature of the air inside can get to mid-30s...

IMO, Cabomba Sp is quite easy for me. The best of the best, Duckweed! They are the "monsters of all aqua plants", their no.s increase by days!
