Pictures of the algae will help very much. It could be BBA or staghorn algae that you're facing.
Generally, check your CO2. No two tanks are identical in nutrient requirements.

I keep 3 tanks all using identical amount of light, CO2, UV etc....but......but 1 of them got badly affected by algae over 5 days that I was away while the rest remained pristine.
The affected tank had lots of black hair algae on one driftwood and sort of greenish type of algae on another driftwood
Any tips on how to prevent this in future?
