Just started a new tank. Was feeling really lazy today and just couldn't bring myself to finish planting it. I may have bought too little Tenellus to complete planting... Probably buy another 2 more pots tomorrow and finish planting it. So... Give me a chance to finish with it...
    Day 1 -

    Tank size: 18" x 12" x 12"
    Water volume: 10 gallons
Plants: Taiwan Moss, E. Tenellus(I hope)
Fauna: Cherry Shrimps, Ottos. Planned - Boraras Merah, Nannostomus Esques(SP?), Tiger Shrimps
    Substrate: Seachem Onyx Sand
    Lighting: Atman 36W(2 x 18W) PL
Filtration: Zoo Med Turtle Clean 501 Canister Filter
Additional: Fan Cooled - DIY, water taken from an already established tank

you remember my previous comment on how the wood can't make it?

    Smack me.

It looks great, nice photography. It's going to be just a field of Tennellus?

Hahah... Thanks, Terence. Would you believe the pic was taken by my girlfriend's Nokia 7610? I was thinking of going along those lines... I might throw some hair grass in the mix a little on down the line. I just want something messy.

Yeah? Looks like I'm screwed... Is it a lot harder to grow than Tenellus? What makes you think it's not Tenellus?

The first and last time i tried, they got overrun by all sorts of algae. Abit too slow growing for my taste.

Very nice arrangment of wood there

Can anyone else help confirm if it's Tenellus, or that other plant I have in my tank?

look at the leaves of the plant.

If it ends in a sharp triangle, it is tenullus.

If it ends in a "spoon" like manner (slightly round edged leaves), it is l. brasilienis

i made my earlier statement based from your photo because when i buy l. brasilienis, it looks exactly like that. tenullus in a pot is a bit shorter.

i think the difference is the growth rate.

see jsenske's tank with that plant as carpet

Booyah!! It's Tenellus. The leaves all end in a sharp point. Thanks for helping me clear that up.

Heheh, if you had seen how grainy the original pic looked, you would. It really is wonderful how much scaling down a pic after you've worked on it in PS can help...

Ok... I definitely did not buy enough plants... I think another 2(?) pots should suffice.

Thanks, K11. It's just one big piece.

2? I think 4 will be better. I think you need some background there though.

Nah... I'd like to keep my options open. If I wanted a dark background, all I'd have to do is slip a dark cardboard behind and same for if I wanted a light background, but thanks for the suggestion though.
I've already bought more plants and "Day 3" pics should be up by tonight.

Thanks, turtlehead. I've wondered about your nick... Do you keep turtles of any kind? I've got 1 male Ocadia Sinensis.

Oh... Heheh... I had thought of that, but I really want this tank to just be minimal and messy. I hope it turns out ok...
    Day 3 -

I've decided to leave a small bare patch in the front of the tank. Ok... My back's aching from the planting and I just got lazy. Also added a Badis Badis(not really sure what speices, it was just labelled as "Badis Badis" on the tank) that I got from NA.

Feel free to comment, even if it's to say, "it sucks". I promise I won't get mad.
