    Hi guys,

Just got this fish today and baby sitting it for one of our folks here. Thought I'll take a happy snappy to show you guys anyway....

I thought it was premium price for a fish like that, but it's from Wilhelm, Germany.

Anyone with any information or links on this particular fish?

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Thats a nice fella once the colouration all comes out as it ages..The fins are all form nicely, not a touch of bad remarks. It'll grow up to be an awesome fish.

Pretty quick to get a photo shot.

    So...

Where is that responsible owner who is suppose to get it?

I'm also interested in a little more information on this fish but i can't find any...anybody?
    Cheers!

That's the cave from Starpet, the Japanese aquarium decoration company. I don't think their products are distributed in Singapore. Can't seem to find them here. Perhaps yorky can get them for you from Japan.

I like them because they are open at the bottom and most of all, very natural looking. Good for cichlids and catfishes as they come in various sizes.

These are from Mr. Wilhelm's stocklist in Germany. Confirmed bred specimens and supposingly showing good coloration. But to be honest, I have the impression that it's usually difficult to tell wild specimens from F1 specimens.

Not too sure about it being semi-adult stage as I'm an apisto dummy. Fish is about 5 cm in total length.

Picture was taken when fish was 15 minutes into the holding tank after a full day of travelling. Lucky shot.

Benny, wild specimens usually have raggedy fins, but they are pretty robust in a captive environment if you acclimatise them to the food and water slowly. But then again this rule is pretty much a variable since some wild specimens that appear here are pretty robust and colourful. I wouldn't be surprised if we get the second-ranked fishes since the best are almost always shipped to the rich markets of Eastern Asia.

Captive-bred F1 or Fx specimens usually have more colour if they are line-bred responsibly. Then again, most lines are usually infused with wild genes to ensure that the subsequent offspring remain strong and retain their colours even in captivity.

In this hobby, its true that its hard to tell them apart but who cares if they're pretty and colourful?
    Fish.. Simply Irresistable

Looks like you will not have enough tanks when you come back....

Anyway, so was the T. candidi cheaper in Japan or Taipei? Those I saw in Taipei were about 1.5 to 2.5 cm only.
