spilo, those 3 species u named, only the Mamore red is available at pet safari at $60 each.. bitaenitata and seldom seen.. caca is easily available.. benetay has some frys but u have to wait since they r still small..

y dun u get german rams? imo, they r much nicer.. u can get them at Toh.. cheaper than LFS

I'll pop in there. Go check out German rams, I think I might have confused german and holland rams together.

Caca is cockatoo apisto right? No problem, I'll wait for the fries, looks nice, some more read at the krib that its a good beginner apisto. But they cost that much? Wow, discus is cheaper.

So what is the price of caca? $60 too?

Toh dun have cacatuoides.. they have german/blue rams.. $8 ea

as for caca.. if u get from lfs, range between $15-$25 each.. so I advice u to wait for benetay's frys

Benetay! I am going to be your first buyer for the the caca... *heehee* How long do I have to wait ah?

But if I get all from him, won't I be inbreeding if they breed?

Whichever the case, still good idea. Apisto tank, a 1.5ft tank. Gonna do for my friend. Hmmm.... any advice on doing apisto tank guys? i do not think I can suck people into discus, but apistos, yeah.... Then, convert them to the light side, discus.

Maybe I should try the jedi thing on my friends, wave the hand and go, 'you will rear discus'[

benetay is in HK rite now...

a simple apisto tank can be a bare tank with some pots for breeding.. or u can have them in a planted tank and add driftwood/stones/pot for them to hide in

I just went to lorong halus and got myself a pair of rams for $8. They look nice, I might go and get one more pair in the week to come. It was a fun trip, met Keith there too, small world. Nice meeting you Keith! Thanks for the ride too! [

Rms are now sitting in a bare tank with a small rock and a small piece of java fern, but they seem to be listless. Dunno why, I think I didn't acclimatise them properly. Hope they perk up soon, female is gravid.

nope, tiger and bee shrimps, daphnia. But he did bring us to Tropical too. And hence I discovered that these places actually have apistos. Interesting.

thats why I only got one pair.

Problem is in my entire fishkeeping years, due to limited transport, very rarely get to see paired rams. Would rather be waiting for your caca really. So just grab for the fun of it. *heehee*

Hi,
The pair of Apistro I got from Toh is mating soon (i think so), but I am not able to get them out from the planted tank. With so many fishes in the same tank, will the batch survive? Has anyone try encounter the same problem?
