    Hi guys

i just got 30 congo tetras (those without yellow tail fringes) for my 5 feet tank, noticed most of their tails are broken at the protruding tip (at the centre of the tail). Is it normal or will it grow back? Would they be good tank mates for fishes like Discus or altum angels?

    comments?

    thanks in advance!

Broken? Congo tails are edgy at the center to begin with, if the white edges are still there, then the tail is intact. Anyway, torn tails can grow back. Dun worry.

I would think they are perfect for discus/angels. They are too big to be munched and not too fast to scare the cichlids... They need similar water conditions also. Only thing is they dun belong to the same biotope (Congo being African). But if you are not doing a biotope, that's fine.

Btw, side track a bit, isn't it too late to ask if they are compatible to your discus/angels after you placed them in the tank?

    hi Justikanz

They (the congos) are the only fishes in the tanks with my 2 LDA001, a couple of Ottos & yamatoes. Havent get any discus or angels yet. Still considering

I think the Congos are very pretty... Too bad those I had earlier didn't make it...

Enjoy and have fun with them!
