Highly oxygenated water is a must. Temperature is not so much of a concern for these guys. Keep them in tanks where there's a considerable amount of water movement.
They will feed on algae wafers, brown algae growing on rocks, small worms and sometimes flake. However newly bought ones need to be "trained" to accept these foods. Sometimes they just waste away in the tank.
