Try Henderson market. The fish stall that faces the main road near the traffic light. They sell both bloodworms and tubifex worms, LIVE. The smallest amount they sell is 20 cents. For 50 cents you get quite a decent amount. Usually available even in the mid to late afternoons.

valice, since you're at Jurong East, there's an LFS here at Bukit Batok West Ave 8, near where I live, that sells live tubifex.

I've been using their tubifex for a few days now and my fish are doing ok so far. The shop's name is Boon Wan Aquarium.

Yes, I think he is talking about that... Dun remember any other Henderson Rd markets... Anyway, if you are willing to travel, can try Redhill Market diagonally across from Redhill MRT station. One LFS there sell tubifex and bloodworm very cheaply...

The shop at BB sells them in 50ct and $1 amounts. Not really alot but the amount of worms will be enough for most folks who do not want alot of worms.

Last time I bought worms from CS, for 50 cents you could get the equivalent amount of $1 that I'm paying now for the worms at my place.

Oh well, my fishes aren't complaining and they are spawning, so I suppose.. no loss there?

Yes, the one opposite Henderson Secondary school. The benefit of that place is that they sell into the late afternoons. Most other places, you need to go in the mornings to early afternoons to get live bloodworms. Tubifex live are easier to obtain though.

Oops! That's cool... Yeah, agree with Valice, there could have more girls in the hobby... But most, if not all, of my female friends would go like 'Eee....' when they see tubifex and bloodworms! Haha...

The Redhill market stall open till 9+pm!... So no problems with working late, if you are willing to travel... Can also go eat your dinner at the Redhill market... I'd recommend some stalls if you are going! Haha... Ok, ok... out of topic liao!

Which is why you should culture your own for awhile before putting them into the tank. My fish have been on a 70% live worm diet for about 5 months now and they seem fine.

please note the the little buggers have stings and barbs that might harm your fish if swallowed the wrong way. And trust me on this, I've had a 4 inch spine through my foot. I'd hate to have it in my mouth

You tried live worms? What puffer are you keeping? Try ghost shrimp. The shell helps to keep the teeth down too. If your puffer is small, you might wanna give it a hand in killing the ghost shrimp first.

If you're referring to Clarias fry, I doubt the smaller fishes would be able to ingest them. They are primarily meant for larger predatory fishes.

On the issue of disease, if you feed dead, dying or sick Clarias babies, you'd definitely introduce diseases to your large fishes.

Puffers will eat anything that moves or doesn't. I previously had dwarf puffers that would take bites out of floating freeze-dried tubifex cubes.
