    Hi,

I have seen one LFS using Dennerle base fert and the use of a reddish clay-like type of gravel. This gravel is sold in "unbranded" packets and it makes the plants look more stunning.

I intend to use JBL base fert and am wondering anyone had had the experience of using such reddish gravel.

    Any brand to recommend? Thanks.

Reddish gravel? It doesn't suit my taste, but try Flourite Red by Seachem then!

JBL Base Fert works for me. How long it last before you start adding supplement to the substrates with JBL base fert depends on how heavy your plants feed.

Echinodorus is known to be heavy feeder on base fert.

    It really depends..
