I just got a pot of rotala macranda from ah pek plant. It's the red kind. Is it difficult? Any tips whatsoever? My tank I think 1.1W per litre, so quite high.

But recently got phenomenon too, the MM suddenly shed a lot of leaves and seems to be dying of... weird.

very demanding plant. The leaves will wither when planted to a new environment. Needs lots of light. Cut off the bottom part if already rotting. This plant must not be in shaded area of the tank. I manage to propagate this plant.

It prefers high kH value (up to 12odkh) and iron as well.

Rotala macranda red is not a difficult plant to grow...(my opinion) you just need to ensure that there is adequate lighting else the leaves is going to rot.
Requires lots of iron to grow at optimal condition. You may want to plant the stalks 2-3 cm apart as new shoots will grow from the bottom as well as a;pmg the sides...

Once established... you probably have to trim the plant once every 2 weeks or so...

There is such a thing as iron sticks right? Kind of like Jobe but only this one is full of iron.

High light.... hmm... okie. I was very suprised when at Ah Pek Plant, I turned the plant round to find O2 bubbles in it. The power of the sun, no wonder they shade it.
