    Hi all..

Has anybody tried using those glass diffusers inside those reactors bought from Nature Aquarium? Would it be better ?

It might help but maintenance is the real PITA.

You mean putting a diffuser inside the external reactor? If it's so i don't know how you're gonna connect the tubing for the diffuser inside the reactor. Even if you can, the diffuser is gonna be clog up with scum or algae later on and it's gonna be a pain maintaining/cleaning the diffuser cos you'll have to open up the reactor to clean it.

There's no need for a diffuser in the external reactor. The small bubbles will accumulate and form into a large bubbles on the top portion of the external reactor.

This is an idea I've thought of exploring.

But (1) the 'reactor' must be connected to the out-flow of the canister filter rather than the in-flow, (2) the intake to the 'reactor' must be lower than the outlet (so the CO2 does not gather in the 'reactor'); and (3) the 'reactor' must be placed near the tank (so that CO2 is not completely dissolved by the time it reaches the rainbar).

If this is done, then the effect should be widely dispersed tiny CO2 bubbles being injected into the tank which is better for the plants than fully dissolved CO2. Which is why I put the 'reactor' in quotes. You really do not need a reactor in such a set up. Just a cylinder with inflow and outflow.

    juz a noob ques here..
What i'm aiming is for the CO2 to dissolve a near 100%.

Maybe JohnC has da same idea like what I have..

Err... not quite. You do not need a diffusor in the reactor if you want 100% solvency. Just connect the reactor to the in-let of the canister filter.

My suggestion is for dispersion of tiny CO2 bubbles into the tank. I think there was a post earlier on how this is better than 100% dissolved CO2.

I've used an atomizer inside the external reactor, it was silicon to the input of the CO2. There are fine bubbles blown out of the output of the filter . I've toyed of the idea last time before for diffuser i think it's over kill... just a small atomizer will do.

If you'll like to connect a diffuser inside a reactor it can be done. Just get a small plastic connector for tubings. silicon it to the input of the CO2 then connect the tube to the diffuser.

    Just my thoughts.
    Cheers!
