Look for the Nature Aquarium series (Vols 1-3) at good bookstores like Kinokuniya or Borders. Some planted LFS will also have the catalogues by Tropica, Dennerle and Oriental, which contains some layouts.

Book 1
Book 2
Book 3
sorry to hijack the thread, but I was wondering if there are any good books that lists all the plants and the names? encyclopedia kinda book?
I saw a few at kinokuniya but they are predominantly japanese. Though the names are in english, most of the descriptions are in jap.
All the plant names?
There's a few at Kino... look out for an author called Peter Hiscock... he's got a plantbook naming the common plants.
An excellent one is "Aquarium Plants" by Christel Kasselmann. You just missed the mass order that AQ had for that book a few weeks ago. That book is not on the shelves here. You can try ordering from the online bookshops. Or even ask if anyone in the forum is willing to let go theirs. It's got a very good listing of aquarium plants, and describes their native environment, care and cultivation, among other things. Some people may actually find it too in depth. I would suggest you ask if a forumer is willing to let you borrow or browse the book before you decide... or find out which LFS has a browsing copy.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
the oriental plant book is good for reference. for more detailed info, the one mentioned by Vinz is defintely a must have book for planted tank hobbyistOriginally Posted by the_r0ck

Hmm.. thanks Vinz and Simon, maybe I'll hop down to NA and some other LFS to see if they have books on hand to recommend.
Meanwhile I'll keep a lookout at bookstores.

Yes, the books can be found at Kino. Alternatively, try MPH or Times. Sometimes, one can find a treasure there.
