You probably got the emmersed form when you purchased them. They will somehow melt away and newer submerged form will appear. The newer leaves will be much smaller. The transformation will roughly takes about 2 weeks in my case.

notice that certain patches of my Hc are turning dark green, wondering what could be the possible cause? HC usually is bright green, am i right?

Hmm...bro..i didn't know HC have more than 1 variation...oic..
no wonder i notice that the dark green patches(on certain areas have dissapeared) so i guess that's what you meant by melted.
