Actually, Juwel does offer additional Multilux options to their Rio series tank sets. My Rio 400 has 4 X FL tubes on the tank.

Besides Arcadia, there were already several other lightset makers offer Juwel Mulilux type light set for both T5 and T8 FL options.

In addition, I have seen modified PL light set using the modified Multilux shell. That was at the now defunct "That Fish and Pet Place" in Hougang.

Back to the subject on Arcadia I series light set, I have not see any retailers in Singapore carrying it. Has anyone seen it?

    Cheers,

Only Rio 300 (depth 50mm)and above have the option on adding another multilux shell. I am thinking of modding the existing shell to accomodate T5 by changing the end caps and maybe the ballast. You have any ideal how to open the shell?

They are seal by rivets, Once you open them, you can close them back unless you use screws.

Give Mr. Chan from Nature Aquarium a call. He might be able to give you some advice.

Finally I find another Juwel tank owner with light deficiency problems !
Which Juwel Tank set do you own and what type of lights / brand are you currently using?

I have a Rio 300 with the standard 4 tubes of 38W lights. Lights are a year old now and thinking of replacing them. Other than Arcadia, I have not seen other FL tubes that are 42inches. Are you aware of other brands with similar dimensions as Arcadia?

The original FL tubes given by Camfurt Enterprise (Juwel Distributor) are just normal Phillips FL tubes.

I use the Dennerle 3085 and 6085 FL tubes for my Mutilux lightset. They have all the sizes you need. Sera, Zoo Med also have the complete range too. Check it out.

    Cheer,
The original Juwel came with only 2 x FL and I bought additional lighset and fitted it with Arcadia. The few other brands that you mentioned, is it around the Arcadia price range as well and are they more effective for planted?

Dennerle sounds expensive and most LFS I've visited do not carry other brands. Any tips on where can I get them.

Thanks for all your "Juwel" tips

Arcadia FL light are good but needs to be replaced every 8 to 12 months. Sera, Zoo Med or Dennerle will last longer.

I think Dennerle should be price highest of the lot. If I remember correctly, one 6085 Amazon Day tube cost about S$75. Sera and Zoo Med are cheaper and a lot easier to find. Bioplast also have good FL tubes, but only available at System and Control Engineering at Boon Keng Road.

Dennerle can be purchased at major retailers such as Sam Yick (Marine Parade, United Square) and C328, otherwise, check if your favorite LFS will bring them in for you.

Alternatively, you can call Mandy from Aquanautics (Dennerle sole agent) and ask for a list of LFS near your place that stocks it.

If a Phillip or Hitachi tube that costs $5 and rated 6800K, what is the main difference of it from those $30 or $75 tube? Try to save money here
