    got a few questions here:

    1. what type of peat should i use? is Keta-Peat Nuggets okay? is it okay to use peat along with Co2 injection because peat lowers pH?

    2. what are the affects of using Aquasoil WITHOUT Powersand?

    3. im planning on growing Glosso and Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis. do i need to use Bacter and Clear Super with Tourmaline? and how much do i need to use? i have a 75 gallon/284 liter.

    1. I don't know what is Keta-Peat Nuggets, but I do know that you only need to add a very thin layer of it peat only. Therefore the pH lowering capability can be ignored.

    2. No idea. I've used Aquasoil without Powersand, plants grow okay. I've a feeling with Powersand plants will just go boom. ADA has always used Powersand with Aquasoil.

    3. I don't know again, but if you get Powersand Special Bacter and Clear Super are already included.

actually ada aquasoil alone is good enough for most setup, but you must always remember to dose through the water column as i believe that is more impt. Mulm from an established tank could work faster than the bacter 100. Yup. You have to go for the best but also think of your wallet unless $$ has never been an issue for you.

Alternatively, amano has done lapis sand with powersand to great effect as well, this could be another avenue for you to consider

btw, i ve grown glosso on aquasoil alone, works fine and grew really well, whats most impt is your dosing and the lighting, with that in place shouldnt have any prob, The other plants needs lower temperature to thrive, thats the main requirement and also yea, dosing as always

Hi hi!! Our new friend from Malaysia.

If you do EI (estimative index), you may have issue with measuring CO2 content in the tank. Because these 'ingredients' that you add to your tank will make gauging of pH a bit complex...

You have no choice then but to increase your CO2 slowly day by day until the maximun bubble count where livestock don't show stress at any point of the day. PeterGwee warns that this increment of CO2 must be done very slowly.

There's also a method posted some time ago about this. Search!

Most measurements are skewed a tad bit whether with EI or not due to accuracy of test kits and other influencing factor. EI is not the cause of the issue unless you went mad on the PO4 dosing. In the end, plants makes the best test kits.

We are side tracking from the main topic already...
