What is the easiest foreground plant to keep? I want something easy that requires little maintenance, any recommendation?

    Hi Bro,
I think E.tenellus is the easiest, or Blyax Japonica, however they may spread throughout your tank if you did not manage well....
    Have fun...

Just bought a brown colour foreground plant(don't know the name) from Bioplast, quite low maintenance as it grows very slowly. Heard it's new in the market. Or you can try hairgrass.

    Hi Waterworld, is it this:

How much did you get it for? How long had you have it? Does it grow tall and does it require a lot of light?

    Thanks!

E.Tennellus, hairgrass, HC, glosso are all easy to grow. HC and glosso will not look nice however, if you have low lighting.

I have just tried Lilaeopsis brasiliensis in my low-tech tank. They look like E.tenellus. Should be growing super slow. And therefore easier to maintain than E.tenellus.

Otherwise Blyxa japonica also not difficult to maintain. But more suitable for mid-ground.

Lilaeopsis brasiliensis - common name -> Micro Sword
it accepts a wide range of lighting, though high light tends to speed up the growth and keep the plant more compact

Lilaeopsis brasiliensis is one of the slowest growing aquatic plant! It takes forever to grow and you'll have to plant them very close or the foreground will be bare for a long time !

I never dared to use Lilaeopsis brasiliensis as it seems like they are in the emersed form... Scared that they melt!...

So does any of them require CO2? Because of my work, I don't normally does alot of liquid CO2. I am now using 11W light for my 1 1/2 foot tank, seems to work very well for my other low light plants.

    E. tenellus or Sagitarria subulata will grow well with no added CO2, fertilisation and medium intensity lighting.
