    Penguin tetra - which Thayeria spp ? (Thayeria boehlkei)

    the regular LFS penguin tetra, is it the Thayeria obliqua considering the given size of T. boehlkei is only 3.2cm (although reported could get up to 6cm)?

    I don't recall seeing any 6 cm specimens locally.

Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii

    Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

    it appears to be the Thayeria boehlkei.

    Definitely Thayeria boehlkei. T. obliqua has an angled black band on the body, and I don't think I've seen it locally yet.

    I don't quite like the Thayeria species. They can get pretty aggressive.

    No Thayeria for me at this moment but thanks for the offer. Downsizing some tanks to make way for my toy collection instead.
