    Hi Guys

Got a couple of questions regarding this issue.

    1) What sort of bleach do you use? Those we use to bleach clothes?

    2) How do you bleach plants before putting them into the tank? eg, duration, bleach concentration etc..

    3) Bleaching of plants can kill snails and algae?

    Thanks
    Regards
    Gene

I only used bleaching at the last resort, typically to remove BBA. The bleach used is those for clothing. Duration and dosage will also depend on the types of plants. And take note of Peter's message .

    Can read this article http://www.aquabotanic.com/plantsandbleach.htm
Can try if you like. Remember to wash plants thoroughly before putting back to tank.

But if the fertilising regime is not proper, the algae will return again later. So it is better to solve the root of the problem.

BTW - it is also good to wash and soak the plants your bought from LFS etc. Sometimes they have been bleached before but not washed thoroughly. And when you plant them, your fish/shrimps may succumb to the bleach and die.
