There are at least 95 limestone hills on the southern part of Kuching. (Bau-Padawan-Serian-Tebakang area)

In the ancient time, (about 140 to 155 million years ago) Bau and nearby area subsided & became the shallow sea. The coral reef grew and sea shells accumulated in that area. Later, there was an uplifting took place. The limestone hills in Bau - Padawan area were created from those ancient coral reefs.

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Oh no...santa Claus forgot to give me 1GB SD card (Nikon D50 is using SD, not CF).

    Still using Jpeg format.

I also suspect those barbs found on the top of waterfall are a bit ...unusual....but I already sent the pix to Dr Tan....hope he can help me to ID it.

How deep is it from the main road (Penrissen Road). Is it the waterfall that is near to the road side with a lot of Kampung kids go? A few years ago, i was driving to find waterfalls but couldnt find anything. Only managed to find a hotspring there.

No. It's in remote area of Padawan....need to hike for 2 hours. There are a lot of waterfalls in Padawan area....most of the villagers won't tell u where they are cos their drinking water is from there.

I see.. one of these days when I go back to kuching, I will go to explore a bit. Haven't felt the itch from the bushes for a long time. I have been exploring 'blindly' around matang and Lundu area the last time I was back...couldnt find anything except croaking gouramies and betta akarensis
