My 1st T5 light set is here! Housing 4 parabolic reflectors and 4x 39w 10000k tubes!

Now my tank looks really blue.
But is it an overkill for my 3x1.5x2 tank? It has only E.tenellus, crypts and Blyxa Japonica. Tank temp at 27 dgrees.

I only set up the tank last week and got the lights about 1 hr ago.

Actually many 3ft light set for T5 come with 4 tube. But if i am you i would mix

10000k and 6500k tubes so won't be so blue.

In SG the T5HO is mostly DIY.

I read in HK forum that

Arcadia (code AF345) T5HO lamp with 4x Plant Pro Tube cost hkd $1100 ++ in shenzhen (Hong Hu) and $1300 ++ in HK. This is Arcadia whole lightset include casing.

Maybe because T5HO not moving in quantity in SG so generally the price is very high because volume is low.

I got this 2nd hand set, so no choice for the tubes. It doesn't matter for now, since I should be changing the tubes anyway t0 6500K. Using this tank as an experiment before converting all my other tanks lightsets into T5HO.

Actually 4 HOT5 tubes is a bit too much but most of the time the lightsets come in sets of twos so got no choice. For me i DIYed my T5's, so mine is only 3 x 39w with parabolic reflectors and is enough for my 3ft densely planted tank.

You can stagger the lightset usage by using 2 timers.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

Blasting the lights at full force. But I reduced the hours from 10 to 8. Shall continue monitoring for a week or so...
