Noticed the did some changes to the hardscape at the second pic. Why? The first one looks nice

I don't know about your current scape but frankly.. I'd fill in the sides lushly and leave the centre where the driftwoods meet bare =x

But anyway your current scape... I think more moss and more filling up of the left front corner!

One of the wood sort of shifted out when I started planting, didn't bother to shift it back to position yet thinking of filling in the sides with moss tied on small stones, what do you think?

The tank size is about 1.5x1x1, haven't decide on the fauna yet, any suggestions?

May I ask what lighting and wattage you are using? I intend to setup a 1.5ft too... Low tech...

24 watts PL, I switch to another 15watts FL if I want lower lights

I find the back still bit bare, would you think adding Cyperus helferi would help or is it too much?... the ones at the LFS now are so tiny you still have any to spare?

Ooo... The cyperus would make a nice contrast... But it might make the tank look a little crowded... Maybe 1-2 stalks might be enough if you want to...

But the lighting seems a little low at the back... Can the plants make it? Ya, those in the lFS look damn small nowadays... Hmm, my helferi dun seem to have started to propogate leh... Don't think I can pass some to you... Hmm...

May i know how did you get the idea to scape your current tank?

one comment is that if you are able to scape your substrate so that it is completely flat your tank scape will be much much more better.

may i know what is your profession? because i find your tank very indepth.

Not necessaryily, Amano recommends flat substrates. Just look at all his tank's substrate lines.

squee is right, i am very heavy influence from Amano, Archittecture and Japanese culture.

There was once i was near a temperate river bed, the gravel was uniform in size and the ground is completely flat. There was an odd shape tree trunk that got wash down by a storm and dump in the middle of it and it was covered with green moss.

I was staring at it and i got lost for sometime, until my wife came and shook me to go.

In nature if you find gravel of the same size you can find very flat beds, if there are bigger size rocks, the ground is uneven, these is what i notice, those in between i am not able to register in my mind.

To me i always try to find a bit of calm in tanks from our crazy and choatic lives. And the flat river beds help.
