Hi, I would like to get a book or DVD on aquascaping. It should have step-by-step pictures on tank setup, rockscaping, terracing etc. Any recommendations?

TFH has a title call Aquarium Plant Paradise by Takashi Amano. That should be of interest to you.

Get a sneak preview of the contents on Amazon

Alternatively, Dennerle's 2 plant publication also features set up instructions.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Yes, benny mentioned a very good book.

Unfortunatly I can't think of any others, few books are available on aquascaping.

Consider the AGA DVD 2004 where Amano did a setup.

The Amano series are always out of the library! Wonder if someone took them for his/her own collection!

IMO Get your own copies, it's good investment if you are really into aquascaping

I have seen all his books but I still find Volume 1 the greatest. Only bought that one!

    Cheers,
I have Nature Aquarium vol 1 and 3. Are they similar in content to Aquarium Plant Paradise? Although there are some excellent aquascapes in those two vols, there is little information on how Amano approached the setups. I am interested in a book which provides step-by-step guide starting from an empty tank.

Hi Peter, thanks for the info. Any ideas where I can order the DVD?

Not really, there're more diagrams and explanations on aquascaping imho. But it's much thinner than Nature Aquarium World books.

Have you consider getting back issues of the Aqua Journal magazines?

Anyone came across a good software for aquascaping? I tried sketching the tank layout, plants, rocks... Alamak! wished I had paid more attention during my art class ages ago.
