Hi aquaX, I'm moving this thread to the Equipment section as I find you'll have better response there.![]()

Hi guys,
Is there a recommended layout for 6ft tank in regards to filtration. My current layout is having a filter output with rainbar at one corner of the tank and the suction at the other end of the tank. The problem im facing now is that i notice that there is some blind spots area which the water does not move (some floating particulars stays in the same position). The rain bar holes is currently pointing about 45 degree down.
The other situation is that i notice that when i off the filters, i will than starts to see bubbles. But once i turn on the filters, all bubbling stops.
Need your help with the above situation.... thank you..![]()

What kind of equipment do you have now?
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.

if your filter flowrate is not strong enough, you'll need to add a powerhead to improve the flow.
do provide more information regarding your setup. without information, we will not be able to help you.

Hi,
What's the flow rate of your filter? Generally, the flowrate of your filter should be 2-3 times your tank capacity. Meaning if your 6ft tank is around 650 litres (for 6x2x2 tank) then you will need at least a filter with flowrate of 1400L/hr.
If your current filter's flowrate is less than that, you can consider adding an additional filter that only has bio media in it, this may also take care of your blind spots. Besides, it increases the amount of your biomedia.
Alternatively, you can also add a powerhead to take care of the blind spots.
Cheers.

Hi thanks,
My flow rate is 1500L/H... im trying to do some modification to the rain bar by opening some more hole.. and will monitor for a while.
