Hair algae? I think they look similar to those that I discovered growing on my expensive Christmas moss (which I threw away) when they were shaded for several months...

I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted!), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted!
), C.tonkinensis(Melted!
), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii
Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

I had similar problem in my mini. I had to destroy algae manually, then change water and redose nutrients. Patience practice![]()
Nowaday I have only fuzz algae which is very good for my shrimps (but fuzz algae is now on fallback as well) and spot algae because of light probably.

Thanks V31 for the link. From the pictures of the site, i think it is fuzz algae and that I should employ black mollies. But they mentioned that the mollies should not be fed to ensure efficient cleaning. What about my neon tetras? Die loh!

1)destroy algae manually, change water, do some water testing, wait few days, report back how is it goingOriginally Posted by black17
2)hair algae often appears in next few days after being pruned from plants. So you know result of your action soon.

I've been advised to do a 10 - 20% water change daily. Should I do it?Originally Posted by V31
