After last years hard combat with the algaes...i finally decided to redo my whole tank. Need some general ideas from u guys to brainstorm though i do have a rough sketch in mind.

Will update u guys on the progress...

So far did a Nana side wall, and soaking a driftwood in the corner of tank. The windelov fern on the right was frm last yr scape, have not decided what to do with it.

First of all, do plant heavily in the start up to prevent chances of algae outbreak, that ball on the wood, that's to hold it down?

    My opinion:
Too bare. Not enough plants. Bogwood is too 'raw'; how about tying some moss on it? Get more similar wood to compliment the lone piece. Alage will visit and stay in your existing setup. Plant heavily at least with cheap plants for the start.
No continuity. You can see where one part starts and ends. The fern is tied to a wood that is too neatly cut. Either take out the fern and tie on other more natural looking wood or slot the wood into the some part of the bogwood exposing only the ferns.
Did I see BGA where the substrate meet the glass? If so, got to get rid of it.
You will have a challange because this tank serves as a dividing wall; you need to scape the take with both views in mind. I think this is a 1.5ft width tank. That gives you little room to play with. Find narrow but tall bogwood. If can't find, get a saw to hack off some 'trunks'.

Yes, the stone that u so called ball is used to hold the wood down. Not really decided yet where to place the wood ...might change it to the right side...

I intend to put moss on the wood. This is juz the initial state. Gonna get lots of plants this Sat, as my LFS near my place stock their plants on Sats. The fern on the right....has no plans for it yet but its not gonna stay there. U think i need a nother bogwood? I havent actually decide the position of the wood juz letting it soaked and sink first.

    Flyx,

I personally like your idea of a Nana wall .
Did you attach the Nana on some 'tree bark' ?
If this was my tank, I would choose the smaller and longer leaves variations to make the wall looks taller though.

Would it be easier to draft out your design on papers first, instead of making that wall right away, and try to scape around it later when you manage to get your list of plants?

Just thinking how you're going to blend in that Nana wall with the rest of your scape.

BTW, is this a tank with ISO filteration? Is that why you had that Nana Wall to hide the side view?

I see you've planted lots of stem plants very densely together. Be careful, they grow fast and if your light is not strong enough, the lower parts will rot causing lots of problems.

take out the pots when you plant, that way you ensure that the water will not be polluted. Anyway, try to make it more 'natural' but i must say its not bad for a scape.
