Hi all! Wake up this morning and saw my A.macmasteri pair bring out a swam of fries looking for food. [] [] [] Brought this pair from Gan 2 months back. Never expect they breed so fast in my tank. They are guiding their fries extremly tie. My yamato and cory got wap out of the area. Even the atum was not spare.
Got a few question to ask: is it ok to catch the fries out??? If not when is it suitable???

that is why i never add any other fishes expect for apisto inside my tanks, if i were you, i will save the apisto by taking out the other fishes.

Sihpoing them out is something very dangerous to do you might kill the fry instantly once u siphon it out if you really want to siphon it out remember to fill the pail with water first to prevent the fry from being knock out.

remove the fry and raise it yourself if you ever remove the female together and put it with the fry, all the fry will be food to the mother. i suppose it can be done by quite a trick. When feeding time get ready. feed them something special like live BW and Live dapnia so that the fry are out eating and siphon it carefully.

give us yr feedbacks Gd luck[]
    Cheers!

Congrats!!!! If you can, try to catch those fishes that are likely to eat your fry. There is not point trying to get those babies out together with their parents. That's safer. If not, maybe putting in more plants to protect them might be useful. If you failed on this batch, make sure you have the pair on a separate tank in the future.

    Good Luck!

THX alot guys, I will try the siphon method and see it going. Can the pair is very clever. They bring out the fries for food when the light is on and bring them back into "cave" (It's a volcano rock) when the light go off. The male will guide outside. They will pick out any fries trying to go out...
Hee...Hee... Very interesting to watch ler [] []

the spihoning method is time consuming.. once the female realise her fry is reducing.. she will sometimes leave them or eat them up... thats y I suggest u remove the other fishes
