    a solar cell could be used. however, to generate enough current to run a fan, the size of the solar cell may become too big for your application. the intensity of the pl tube is much lower when compared to sunlight.

    oh..i took that as the solar cell was outside..as in not on your tank!!..

    As above cost $RM15 = $S6 dollars in johor I think SLS or SLT might have.
