    Hi guys,

my checklist will be as follows

-4x2x2 tank + stand/cabinet already got quote but how thick must the glass be ?
-Canister filter thinking of getting a jebo/jebao, wat do you guys recommend for a 4x2x2 and also any idea the cost ?
-Ferka base fert how many packs do i need ? and if so, how much?
-Aquaclay substrate how many packs do i need for a substrate that is around 3 inches thick ? or do i need it to be thicker ? any idea the cost as well ?

think that's all, lighting, Co2 all settle liao.
    thanks guys!

Depending on the type of brace, I believe. For braceless you need 15mm. Some forumers seemed to have braceless 422 with 12mm. Tank manufacturers whom I checked with all told me that 12mm does not meet the 'specs' of braceless tank. Check with the tank manufacturer whom you got your quote from. Their reputation are on the stake and they should advise you accordingly.

Even though this is obviously a personal choice, why would you choose a stand over a cabinet if you have so many equipment to put away. Unless of course you are using all ADA products

    Nicky,

ADA only use 15 mm glass for their 6 ft X 2 ft X 2 ft braceless tank. And it's just normal glass.

    Cheers,

Then I don't know which catalogue you are refering to. I was just thumbing through the ADA 2005 catalogue.

    Cheers,
Benny you are right. There are 12mm & 15mm option for ADA 6ft. I got confused with what Aquatechnic quoted.

For your filter i think it's better that you get the Atman 3337 since quite a number of guys here used it with ok reviews about it and also you can get some of the spare parts. Do check it out at NA.

Can't remember the price but it's less than $80. No problem for a 4ft tank but if you kia-su can get one series higher. I'm currently using it for my 3ft tank and the power is more than enough.

I would suggest you get the 3338 instead. Price wise. It is around 80 to 80 plus. You can check with C328 or NA. Their prices are very reasonable. And after sale service is good. How big the flow rate also depends on what you intend to connect to your filter externally. For my 3ft tank, I am using a Atman 3338. Reason being is that I am connecting an external reactor to it. Thus needing a bigger flowrate.

    yoz
most probably i will run 2 canister.
    a 3336 and a 3337.
not gonna run an external reactor, just running an internal one will do.
    any idea the pricing ?
how much you got your 3338 for ?

    Read here about Aquabase:
1 Pack treats about 200litres. 422 tank is about 450litres, which means 2 packs. Personally, I would up it to 3-4.

When I use Aquabase, I do not mix it with gravel. I sprinkled it at the bottom before I pour the sand in. Have a tiny bit of water inside as the powder will "fly" if keep dry.
