I notice my apisto will pick some of the sand and spit it out all over the place, does anyone know why?

Why apisto like lou han? it's suppose to be lou han like apisto...sifting the sand in search for food among the gravel is common for most apisto. they like foraging among the sand/gravel. some female apisto use this technique to build their nesting ground. covering up the ever expose entrance.
    Cheers!

Ah ok, thx everybody, just checking. So does this sifting affect your landscaping, since the apisto have their own idea too?

Nevermind whether apisto like Luo Han or Luo Han like apisto.
If we can convert more Luo Han to apisto keeper, it would be very wonderful!

just so long they don't throw the LH in the longkang and reservoir.

PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE! THEY WILL DIE IN PEACE

I will be waiting around longkangs if people threw apistos into them. Speaking of which, has anyone caught any ornamental fish in the longkang near the Pasir Ris Farmway? Seen alot of tilapias just now.

I was once at Biotope a few years back with Charles (then shop owner), some other friends and I were having a chat when this fellow walked in. He would be what some would consider the typical Ah Beng type. Had a look at the shop, the apistos and thought nothing much of it and then commented to Charles in an all knowing manner, "your Luo Han baby so small, must feed. Mine one very big and very nice. Got 'kok tau' one". We were left amusingly speechless and the fellow left.

Somehow, that left a very lasting impression on me.

    Cheers,
We still have these comments every once in a while. "Your fish looks like baby luohan", "Your fighting fish are very expensive"
