Aside from using fishing line, is there other ways of making nana petite stick to a piece of wood?

I stapled it. By the time the staple disolved, the plant had grabbed ahold of the wood.

Use the smallest wiretie you can find...
Simple to put on, and simple to remove... Just cut...

    Stapled?

Won't it rust? And how does a staple dissolve? After years of rust?

I don't think it will dissolve... Maybe it was pushed out from the driftwood by the roots or some fish goes round pushing it and it dropped to the substrate...

    Stapling is indeed an option...

Can use black cotton thread too. By the time the line rots away, the plant should have adhered to the wood.
