No problem, Evo. I am also a long time admirer of this little beauty.Originally Posted by evolim83

i don't know if you lads have had them before, in the uk ive heard they are a very delicate fish to keep, so take good care of them ,
i never keep otto's they seem to be my bogey fish, they always look great for a time and then they just die on me?.
cheers, mick
Yup, I am keeping 6 of them for quite sometime now. My zebra otos are doing well, despite having to relocate from one tank to another thrice within the last few weeks. In fact, some have growth quite plump, perhaps filled with eggs?Originally Posted by mickthefish
That would be great, Kray. Do keep us posted, I have not heard of them spawning yet. If it does, what a way to usher in the new year. I'll keep my fingers cross for you ...anyway Happy Chinese New Year.

The zotos in CF are fully grown adults according to a fren of mine
If that's the case, it would be exciting! Not may successful otocinclus spawnings around. Mostly accidental spawns except Ronwill's.Originally Posted by kray
I'm surprised that yours are doing well even with your current setup. They are suppose to be fragile creatures.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Of all the otos I think the Zebra is the MOST fragile. I've not had luck with them for the past few times I've owned them, even though my tank has a fairly good growth of green algae for them to chow on. Oddly enough, my 2 Parotocinclus spilosoma are doing excellent in the same tank where I never expected them to survive for a long time.
So maybe.. just maybe I might be enticed to drop by at Eco, take a look and perhaps get some for myself.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Greetings Bro Stormhawk,
How have you been? Haven't heard or seen you for some time. What's up...keke

Hi Ppl,
Just for those that miss the previous sighting, C328 have 3 zebra oto now, adult size, in the pink of health at the small tanks behind the shop where the plants are. Check it out.

Hi People,
Went shopping with my kakis today, spotted these beauties again at Eco Culture and 'Colourful' over at Thomson. Mature specimens and seem quite healthy. Really damn hard to resist... 'Chiong ah'......
*Chiong ah-literally means charge!!.....

Not going to be as nice as Benny's... but here's one that I have in my tank now...
Pardon the "accessories"... i.e. snails and the algae...
Cheers,
Joe
Thanks, Joe. Just wanted to share the beauty of this fish with the rest.

How big are the new batches of zoto (zebra oto)? Anyone seen toto (tiger oto) recently?
