ask your friends also come in the cichlid group.

doesnt matter if they only choose to stay off internet/forums or just wanna be onlookers.

coz this thing will be more "off-internet" in future.
But will like to have more ppl showing some interest here right now.

if everything chooses to be sideline watchers, we cannot do anything much, and less fish will be able to go around.

Yah, I am interested in cichlids. Definitely want to keep a pair of red terrors []

Went to malaysia last weekend and hooked a wild cichlid while fishing in the ponds in the golf course. Was tempted to bring it back but figured that the journey would kill it so released it back. It was beautiful, looks like a small copper-coloured Kirin with black vertical stripes on its body. Of course with it, I also caught some big arawans' and tomans'

it sounds like the "fake red terror"

    Cichlasoma ("Nandopsis"?) urophthalmus

the copperish tone is quite characteristic.
have you by any chance taken a look at the eye spot at the base of the caudal fin ?

yah, i think it is. judging by the pics found on the internet. but its face is less rounded, its shape is more aggressive...maybe because it haven't reach its full adulthood yet, its only about 4.5"...or maybe its a female.

anyway, the whole fish is copper in colour. there are no other colours on its underside or fins. however it has "gold ring" iris on both its eyes...oh also if i remember correctly, it has a single black spot near its tail on both sides. simply beautiful.
