2 questions that need help:
a) Broght 2 types of Aponogeton from Teo's aquatic plants supplier and according to the lady boss, this is a easy plant to start with.
Problem is the plants is growing BUT turn brown/ melt after ~5 days, is this normal for Apono.??
b) Sick of clearing the brown stain that stick to the tank glass since day 1 when I started my 3 feet tank, what is the best way to get rid of this? Light = 4 x 25W for 12 hrs and C02 bubble = 1.5 bubbles / sec.

brown stuff on glass? does it form a sheet when you scrape it off? if so, it sounds like bga
if it just clumps together and it's slimy, brown algae
the best way is to do small water changes frequently, cut down on fertilisation
as for crispus, yes, but all you have to do is to remove the affected leaves, and add base supplements to it
it'll bounce back before long
use in conjunction with good water changes and fert regime
the other apon i have no idea
unless you know what type it is
what does the other apono look like? it's prlly capuroni or longiplumulosus cuz those were the only aponos teos had besides mad and crispus the last time i was there......
if it is capuroni... brown leaves are normal....

The brown algae is the slimy type in which it feel oily when u scrap it.
The other Apono i believe is Apono. ulvaceus in which it grow and become transparent after some time.
Currently, I am not using any liquid fert at all.
Talk to Juggler and he recommend remove the Zeolite in the filter which might help. Currently monitoring and chg water 25% twice a week
you have otos?
as usual water changes will help clear them away
ulvaceus is quite an easygoing plant
and you can simply rub off the slime from the leaves while siphoning off the water
No otos. In the process to look for some.
Only got 2 big SAE and one catfish.
Which otos to recommend and qty needed?
otos almost all the same one
try to get the bigger ones
they tend to be more hardy
no such thing as big = old = gonna die soon
big is beautiful
think 6 should be fine, if they don't die
