    Might I suggest using MH sinc your tank is almost a cube. Also u mentioned u want to plant E. grand.... MH will be best for you open concept tank. If not 3X36W PL would do fine (2.57 W/g).

    i think i am going for 3x36w PL ... easier on my wallet too ... as well as temp of my room

    Yah ok.... mind finding out what's the price for 3X36PL cos MH 150W cost abt $350+. If not much diffrenece I recomend the MH..... or maybe MH 70W might be enuf to do the trick. Our guide is ussually 3W/g for flourescent... MH not too sure.... can somebody advise?

    hmmm .... one 2ft PL light from Nature is ard $60 i think .... so that will make it $180 for the whole thing ....

    yah...... budget wise, PLs are the way to go..... but still your decision lah..... with PLs all covering the tank, maintenance will be troublesome...... but when got budget, no choice lah. Maybe better get 2X36W and a 36W set....

    Good definately better choice, won't argue with you there... but budget connot compromise... watudu.... for MH lights you need to pay almost double....
