If you have anti virus software on your PC, remember to update your virus definition file, if not here's a link to a tool that is supposed to remove the worm. (Disclaimer: I have not tried the removal tool personally)

I am also thinking of the same thing. but does it work?Originally Posted by ranmasatome
I think it depends on the makeup of virus... If the virus programmer is diligent enough, he can easily work around this date changing trick... Unlike the old Michelangelo virus which can be defeated by just changing the date...
So for safety sake, download the latest virus updates for your respective virus scans and do a scan before the day to ensure that your computer doesn't crash...
Oh yah... One more thing to add...
For Mcafee users, check that your virus definition is 4682 and above... there is a latest definition 4687 created on the 1st of Feb...
oh no ! my Norton anti virus has expired......

Download AVG Anti-Virus Free edition. I'm quite impressed with it, considering it's freeware.Originally Posted by mervin
Right-click on your mcafee vshield icon on the left of your task bar... You will see the "About"... Click on it... It will display the virus definition version... Above 4682 and you will be alright...Originally Posted by BFG
Yes. Do try it. Just recently started using it after all my PC are not working (2 of them).Originally Posted by |squee|
As for norton, once installed, do not use the liveupdate feature. Manually download the vius def (exe one) and run from there. As long as don't activate liveupdate, no issue with the expired subscription (troublesome but unlimited updates compared to 1 year only).
