So the big side should be 1 tablespoon instead of teaspoon...
omg so which is which ?

Ok let me clear this up. I made a mistake also

According to Google, 1 US teaspoon = 4.92892161 milliliters. Aka 5ml.

    Left side = 5ml = 1 teaspoon
    Right side = 2.5ml = 1/2 teaspoon

    WAH!
Really ar?! Okie... Then must up the amount of fertilizer dosed already...
    Thanx for the clarification...

But I have another question... Is the 1 US teaspoon ml measurement meant for liquids? So the question is whether it is also true for solids... Getting confused...

I believe it's taken into account if you use APC's fertiliator or Chuck Gadd's calculator. No need to bother if it's meant for solids or liquids.

Glad to have cleared up the issue.

no need so lei chey la.....the spoon which terence posted is good enough liao...

the 5ml and 2.5ml engraved on the spoon is with respect to the flat level...
so when i suppose to dose 1/2 tsp of KNO3, i just scoope a bit (slightly small mountain) on the smaller side of the spoon, then i'll use my finger to flatten the peak to remove the excess,

that'll give me approx 2.5ml which is 1/2 tsp equivalent...

According to EI, it is okay to go on the excess, instead of going low... So dun really need to flatten it or what... Just agar agar that amount can already...

Can clear up that the small one is 1/2 teaspoon will ensure that we don't go low on the amount... Go high is okay...

Just curious about something... when is it best to add NO3 and PO4? When light is off, going on in a few minutes? when light is already on? when light is off, and no going to be on for some hours?

I assume it will be when lights is on...correct me if I'm wrong?

Well, it doesn't really matter... Do it at a time that suits your schedule...
But I have read about people who feel that the nutrients should be added about 2-3 hours after the lights are on, as that is the time when the plants start to use the nutrients in the water...

So, if you have the time, you can do it... For me, I just dump it before I head to work...

You can dose them anytime lah. No need to be that professional.
Usually mixing them beforehand is better, in case your fishes swallow the undesolved matter.
I ran out of the solids and NA told me I have to wait a few weeks! Got myself the NPK mix (Nutrafin) as I was rather desperate. Anyone has experience with that mixture?
