Hi Rugrat,
I think an addition of a moss covered drift wood would be good, somewhere behind the swords but infront of the crypts. Probably off centre to create more depth, my 2 cents...![]()
Good plant growth.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.
I have same thoughts as Michael. No scape is complete without a hardscape.
I agree. There is a need for a hardscape. If not, the tank would look kind of 2 DimensionOriginally Posted by |squee|

Background clear of algae!![]()

I think what really kills your setup is the gaudy background paper and the low light. Personally I'd change it to white BG and stronger light. As for rocks... move them slightly to the left in the pic and get a few smaller ones to lay around the large one. Your hardscape should have a kind of flow to it. Think fragmented mountain![]()
Oh and add something that eats algae. Cherry shrimp seem perfect for your tank.
I disagree. Amano has aquascapes with blue background too. Some of them turned out pretty well.Originally Posted by XnSdVd

I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Yes, but his had a depth/light combo that complimented the blue. To the point it was mostly whites. I especially like how the water surface in his photos is almost always white too
You need more rocks still!![]()
Try to create a river underwater scape.
Dear all,
again, thanks for your comment.
couldn't get any more of the same rock from the aquarium shop.
instead, i have broken it into pieces (at 1st want to cut the big piece into 2 but ended up broking them into 4, so total = 5 pieces).
also, added in 2 amazon swords to the right.
comments pls. tks.

Hehe, I love amazon swords, especially when it starts growing and becomes a very thick bush.. I have 2 of them in my tank and they've grown really thick, imo, really nice once matured.

Very nice foreground , simple n nice.
The tank can do with more mid-ground and back-ground plants, hardscape like wood and rocks can be optional depending on your taste but more plants in the 2 section I mentioned will improve the scape.![]()

Dear all,
Thanks for your comment.
I am not sure if cardinal tetra, Asia rummy nose and apistos are sitable for environments with lots of rock.
Maybe, I will take away some rocks or put it further into the ground.
Also little light was because I am lazy. I want low light, min CO2, min hour of 8 per day so that my plant don't grow too fast. so that i don't have to maintain too frequent.
Thanks again
Perhaps that the stone is too centralised?![]()
Dear all,
thanks for your comment.
I have downloaded how my 3 feet tank looks like 1,2 years ago.
Which one is better? I am still new to this.
thanks.
