Certainly looks like a hybrid to me too! But I'm no shrimp expert.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

They were bought as Neocaridina sp. 'Zebra'...

I was looking for some info more about... and I got something.
    It´s named 'Tüpfelgarnele' by Germans

    Google Image searching

    Somo aditional ingo:
Brownish, easily transparent basic colour with small black semicolons intersperses. Very beautiful shrimp, which lets itself be animated easily to the reproduction. The kind reaches approx. 2,5cm final length and belongs thereby to the smaller kinds of dwarf shrimp.

hmm...zebra... I had the impression that there were some zebra shrimps on sale here at one point in time. Haven't seen them lately. Otherwise, we can give you a visual comparison.

However, thanks for the information! Appreciate it!

Here's one of my older tiger shrimp for comparison...

    Cheers,

Xema, it could well be a hybrid. I had something similar when I used to keep tiger and bee (or something that looked like a bee) and after that I got offsprings looking like yours. I called them Jaguar shrimp

On the other hand, the caridinae group has so many similar species that I have given up trying to find the exact id unless one has the ability to dissect.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Xema, crystal red is a selectively bred strain of the bee shrimp. it is not a hybrid.

I think this is a Tiger shrimp. In Hongkong or China there are many many different tigers from different shrimps hence their pattern varies. I have seen photo of wild tigers like that collected from rivers in HK.

Is this shrimp from your own breeding or you get it off from a local fish shop ?
