    Hi Ppl,
Just bought this light set, design wise is well 'good enough' for me to want to share it with you guys. What really caught my attention was the stand. After the Dymax 'fiasco', this was a breath of fresh air. It's a 3 x 24W T5 HO, interesting casing shape. The stand was in plastic but adequate enough to support the flipping design. Don't ask me what brand cause it ain't stated, pricing please ask Chan from NA. Enjoy...

Oh! The one that Mr Chan recommended to me... Can PM me the price? How is the performance as compared to the Dymax?

What is the reflector for this?

I am considering between this and the Aquamarin one, as I would like 3 tubes and the Aquamarin one has only 2 or 4...

    Hi Thomas,
Yup, it's that 1. The reflectors are the same as dymax's model. I am currently using it on a W600 x D300 x H360mm tank, Illumination is good enough for me( better than the 2 x 36Pl I was using previously ) The real difference is in the temperature, my water was evaporating like no body's business when I was using the PLs. Now it's much cooler. Can't really comment on Aquamarine's model cause I have not use that model before. But for that price, the stand's design, I would have to give this light 4 out of 5. Although the stand design is flippable, it can still slide like all other light stand because the stand is attach to the light casing same as the other lights through grooves along the casing...cool left a message on our training ground.....

It's a very different model JC, yours is pretty ex and the casing is uniform. The one I'm using is not uniform. I think the pricing is 2 times the difference...
Dear Dot, you have chosen not to accept private message over at your user CP, please undo. Anyway call Chan( NA ) for the pricing

Anyway the price is labelled as $75 clearly at NA for this T5HO light set. So i think it's alright to list it. Price don't include tube. Good price for 3 tube set really.

    JC,
If you happen to go HK, make a trip to Shenzhen. Their Arcadia lightset is very very cheap ! Even HK people travel there to buy. I might go SZ in Sep .. maybe will get their T5HO cos the price is too good to ignore.

    drats.

i bought one yesterday. Mr Chan was quite honest about it saying that it came from the same manufacturer as the magnum series.

    i also have Mr Chan's 2x36watts PL.

    personal comments.

reflector is not the parabolic type. i guess it is better that PL in terms of coverage but not as good as those with parabolic reflectors. the price he gave is not bad in my opinion for quality.

i recommend that you change the tubes, additional $5 per tube. i changed mine to osram 6500K maybe because im used to the Colour. My 2x36wattpl also has osram 6500 tubes. The original tubes don't seem very bright.

also, the length of the casing is about 63cm so it can rest on a normal 2 feet tank if you want

    Dear Spinex,
The reason I don't post pricing is exactly what Justikanz has said. I don't want to get anybody into trouble, spoil market and all that crab. These current crop of 'interesting postings' are just some of the stuff I personally find well, 'interesting' enough to want to share with you guys. Hope you guys can understand anyway, if any of you guys want the pricing can always PM me.

Thanks, Irwin. This is my current favorites, furcatas.

    Michael,
The fish in your avatar is Pseudomugil signifer and not P. furcatus.
I have furcatus in my tank too. Don't seem to be able to find them in LFS now

The other Pseudomugil I like is P. gertrudae. It is a lovely fish for smaller tank.
