Last night, or was it this morning, I recruited another buddy to help me with the setup. He is Alex (yappeyap). Pls refer to the last picture of this post for his picture.

Luckily I got him.. he is kind enough to share his alternative views on how the layout.. he also help me to do milk-run to rid the remaining water in the tank before scaping. It was 0400hrs this morning when he left maybe I should rename my nickname as 'Slave_Driver'.. Or yah he also showed me the way to hold those floating bogwood down with fishing weight.. very innovative, I must say.

The pictures looks quite blue.. possibly because I include Oceanwhite tube (10,000K) T5 in my lighting set. Pls bear with it.

On Sat night I will do up the remaining plants.. hairgrass, crypts, stem-plant.. then I can start to han-tam my tank with ADA Step-1.. mai-tu-liao...

I will post more pic of this tank as it evolves.. hopefully to something pleasing to the eyes.

Welcome any comment, improvement tips, etc.

    Enjoy !

    Hello everyone!

Hello guys, this is Alex aka Yappeyap. Thanks Nicky, for the introduction........!

Aquatic Quotient was first made known to me by the infamous “Mr Tree – Zhou Hang” and from then on I was drawn by the beauty and wonder of nature and the knowledge AQ has offers to beginners like me. After several years of mimicking, self educating & constant reading up, the moment I was waiting for since i started in 2000, my dream has finally coming true! After getting my new place renovated & while my wife starts working on our bridal & marriage plans…I had kick start my plans on a bigger tank, secretly!

If ask of Cost??? Answer: Somewhere there lah kekekekeke!

Currently I'm in the progress of gathering information of size/design of the tank, size of the cabinet, tank maker, approval from HDB, lighting issues, Co2 supply, filter issues, chillier issues, electric wiring, pipe routing and many more.

Hope one day, I would be able to join you guys in the quest and appreciate the help in future in building up the tank similarly if any of AQ folks need a mind to crack on any DIY issues, I don’t mind lending a hand

    Cheers!

Looks good! Are there going to be foreground plants, or are you going to focus on the mounds?

Is this going to be a ADA-fertilised tank then?

the DW are really nice, but i think there seems to be too little substrate... no depth in the tank although i can tell this tank is 2.5 or 3ft tall

Already planted more plants in the tank, have yet to update the pictures. Will update the picture when time permits.
Can considered it 'done' for the next week or so before hands starts to get itchy again.
I spent few hours planting 10 pots of hairgrass.. but now I saw the Jap hairgrass I may take out every piece of the dwarf hairgrass and replace them with the Jap one.. but why is the Jap one so ex.? I think it is only a matter of time when the price falls..

Not a fully ADA-fertilised tank lah.. can be quite heavy-going when you do that. Just want to try the Step-1 and maybe Step-2 to see the effect. Anyway I am using Seachem Flourite on top of ADA Powersand Special. Should be quite lethal..

I am now struggling a little on the CO2 reactor. Just found out yesterday that the inlet and outlet of the reactor were not done neat enough. So tore down the whole thing and redo again. Got to wait for the epoxy to dry. So the plants does not have lights as my CO2 is not ready. Yet the stem plants are growing, amazing..
