Hi peeps, have a question regarding flowrate for a planted tank. Currently running a 2028 and jebao 918 for my 6x2x1,5 tank. 2028 is connected to the co2 reactor while the jebao 918 is not linked to anything. Meaning the outlet is just below the surface of the water. Seems like the surface of my tank is very turbulent. I wonder if this will affect the light penetrating and will there be a wastage of co2 due to the surface turbulance?

I'm not sure about the affection of light penetration but I'm sure that there'll be wastage of CO2 due to the surface movement. As PeterGwee says, some movement is good but not too much, since your CO2 levels will be affected if there's too much movement.

Will using a rainbar to disperse the flow able to help? The turbulance is really bad at the surface of the tank. must think of a way to solve it. Any advises?

Use a rainbar and place it vertically in the tank.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

Either that or do what I did, place the rainbar right at bottom above the substrate, better dispersion of the CO2 (as advised by PeterGwee)
