I think sometimes the LFS did not bother to repackage the feeders so leaving them in there for a few days.Maybe can ask the LFS owner when he package them or open the package and take them home. Also the conditions of the fishes might be bad enough.

I don't have much encounters with fishes dying on me when I buy them or left the bag in the tank.Maybe I have been lucky. But I normally try not to shake my plastic bag (with fishes inside) and also keep them out of sunlight. Most feeders are not fed so their tummy looks flat. I do not feed them until the next day (slowly increase the feeding as they may not take the food so fast). I also realise that tiger barbs need a "leader" to explore before they join him, when the coast is clear. Saw that a few times with my tiger barbs. Reminds me of the army.
FYI. The one selling ladies accessaries should beside a spec shop. The other one is right at a bend/corner to a fruit store. Should not miss them. Since u live near there, can check them out first before shopping else where, if u are lucky to find some. The LFS there sometimes sells zebra danios (blue stripe ones) and swordtails as well as feeders. It is such LFS that make me ich to start my fishy business...![]()
