    Guys,
I need some advice on what I should do.
Please have a look at this drawing.

Essentially, I would like to remove some of the partitions on the tank.
    Its a 180cm x 50cm x 45cm (height) tank.. ie a low tank so 6mm glass.
    Any experience on similar DIY?
    Should I proceed or not?

Yes. Siliconed to the main tank.

if the glass partitions are siliconed to the main tank, i guess you can slice out the silicon and remove the partition.....do take extra care when cutting out silicon at the bottom, connecting to the silicon of the main tank.....you dun wan to have a leak ya....

    good luck!!

    Thanks for all kind suggestions.
Not new projects.. just want to get maximum mileage of what I have.
I realised I prefer if the partitions are no connected.

Forgot to mention something. You can simply remove the ones I told you about and use silicone to fill the gap. Less work that way and I'd imagine you'll cover it with substrate anyway.

    Good thinking!
Even if its a 2cm gap all through?
I hope the silicone can stay!

Silicone is one of those things that just WONT get off no matter how bloody hard you pull. So I wouldn't worry. but make sure you really clean the surface before you start

What I normally do is to slice off the silicon using brand new blade but you got to be very careful with your hands as the blade will be very sharp.

Those left over silicon can be removed using the blade as well, and they have to be new blade as well in order not to scratch the tank.
