heard someone say Angel Fish is a shrimp killer, they hunt for shrimp as food, is it true?
i have a planted cherry shrimps tank with some neon tetra, i would like to introduce 2 or 3 small Angel Fish (about 2-3cm big) into my tank, may i know could it be any negative result?

No problems with borrowing pics, as long as got acknowledgement.

Eh, Angels, being cichlids, will see smaller critters as food... Otos, tetras, shrimps etc are all in danger of being eaten... Actually, this is also hindering me from getting angels...

But some people would recommend introducing the angels AFTER all the other tank mates had been settled and growing. Also introduce the angels when they are small. This would reduce the chances of the angels attacking the tank mates...

    My 2 cents...

Well, there are ways to keep angels in community tanks.

    1) Start them small and start them later than the rest of the fish
    2) Keep slightly bigger fish with them. Avoid small tetras, otos etc...
    3) Keep them in a big tank and do not starve them.
    4) Plant heavily for the smaller fish to hide from them if they get aggressive. The smaller fish will appreciate the sense of security the plants provide.
    5) Keep a small school of them to allow interaction between themselves to avoid them turning their attention to the other fishies. But it is important to feed them well.

Angelfish are like a pack of wolf when they are in numbers. They'll eat shrimps and any small fish that can fit in their mouth. Their name mislead their natural behaviour.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.

I think its a bad idea to introduce Anglefish to your tank!
I had one given to me from a friend!
When I had it with my discus, it was rather well behave!
But when I add it into my community tank, it was hell for those already there!
My cherry shrimp population dropped drastically, though i din catch it red-handed!
    I had since removed it!

Actually, my angels killed my discus when they were laying eggs... But I would still give them a chance... Just make sure there are no fish too small... My discus and angels would eat neons that are not too fat...

If the little Angel Fish can be so cruel to their small fishmates, then I will change my mind and not to bring them in.

    Thanks again for the comments.
