Hi...anyway to increase the PH of the water. The PH for my water is always between 4 ~ 5. Had tried changing water but to no avail.
Why do you want to change the pH of the water?
· Aerate the water, driving off the carbon dioxide (CO2)
· Filter over coral or limestone
· Add rocks containing limestone to the tank or use a coral sand substrate
· Use a commercial alkaline buffer
I thought the ideal pH should be between 6 ~ 7. Isn't 4 ~ 5 too acidic. Will shrimps survive in it?
There's no idea pH, it's only depending on what you keep. Plants can live in a wide range of pH, wider than fishes if I'm not wrong.
Shrimps will do okay in 4-5 imho. Just keep your kH good to prevent pH crashes (kH of above 3).

How am I able to rise the kH of the water? Just tested it & was either 1°dKH or lower.
No more saltwater tank for me!
imo if u have co2 canister it will help raise kh of water as co2 bubbles dissolve to form carbonates in the water which increases ur khOriginally Posted by dennster

Presently, I'm using the DIY CO2. Doesn't seems to increase the kH though. Are there anymore methods?
