Brine Shrimp Eggs

Hi folks,

Been talking to benetay about hatching brine shrimps for feeding apistos and he introduced www.brineshrimpdirect.com to me....its a great online store to get brine shrimp eggs, equipments and even some fish food.... we're wondering if there'll be more ppl interested in getting BS eggs or other products from this great online store....

benetay has used the premium grade eggs and have more than 95% hatch rate....anyone wana join in the order so tat we can share the shipping cost?

Buying stuff from brineshrimpdirect.com is a good idea but please note that the prices are in USD. In the long term it will not be economical for locals to purchase and pay for shipping in USD, unless you have a large number of interested people willing to share the cost of shipping. I doubt that will happen since daphnia is available locally at a much lower cost.

To be really economical it would be better for you to purchase one whole can and repackage the eggs in smaller film canisters which should be airtight. Excess canisters can be resold to fellow forumers.

Just some ideas, from someone who knows folks that have done business with brineshrimpdirect.

is there anywhere locally where we can purchase good quality BS eggs?

I think C328 does have the BS eggs you require, or try my friends at killies.com

The other good quality eggs I supposed would be the ones from JBL, but very expensive to buy. One tip for those intending to buy brine shrimp eggs from the shops. Make sure the container is air-tight and make sure the eggs do not clump together. That is a sign of moisture coming into the container. This means they are probably spoiled/damaged eggs and most likely will not hatch or will only give a very lousy hatch rate.

When hatching please use marine salt. Table salt does not work as well as marine salt.
