    Again, like many have said, there are impurities in your KNO3, or your KNO3 isn't really KNO3 at all. Is it white in colour? If it's pink, it's a different chemical, probably potassium muriate (aka muriate of potash). That one only provides K, and it is rather hard to dissolve ime.

    Err... Had tried to resist posting... Ok, all Potassium (K) salts are soluable. I think almost all nitrates too. As such, do check what you had added in.

    After note: The solubility still depends on the amount you try to dissolve, as mentioned by bclee. There is only this much a certain amount of solvent can dissolve a solute, no matter how soluble the solute is.

    How much KNO3 you are adding to how much water?

    The solubility of KNO3 is only about 35g (~7 teaspoon) per 100ml @ room temperature. Anything more will not dissolve.

    Even if you heat it to dissolve more solids, it will crystalline out again if you cool the solution.

    i added about 27 i think.
    cos that's wat i need to add to get my recommended amount of ppm..
