Will definitely give Riccia a try. Always a dream to have a lawn of it in a 4ft tank. Like what you said, when it's too difficult to maintain, i'll remove it. But before i do it, i'll take some digital photos and keep it as a memory.

    More questions.

It is often said that the FL tubes available in hardware shop should show the reading of 6500k to 10000k. However, i couldn't see such reading. Where is it located? Or it is encoded by OEM which made us unaware of the reading.

The daylight FL tubes mentioned (cheap and good). Is it just normal FL tubes or those which is the energy saving tubes?

The color temp is normally not indicated on the tube. You'll need to check against the catalog for the specifications. E.g. Philips PL865 - 6500K. Most daylight tubes are 6500K and cool white is 6000K. The coolwhite is abit yellowish.

If you're interested in FL I recommend Hitachi Extra Bright Tubes (HEBT). 4ft may cost around $5~6.
    Cheers!!
