    Hi,

Would like to learn from Apisto fans here, few weeks ago I bought two Apistogramma agassizii (male) and put them in my 2x1.5ft planted tank with others fishes; tetra and carnials (about 40 pieces). Last two days I saw them swimming most of the time on the surface with bloated stomach. This morning I saw both die!

Is it the water quality problem or should not mix them with other fishes? Can the expert here help.

Maybe you can provide some information about your tank?
    Temp, ph?

My very first apistos, an aga pair bought from Toh's also didn't last very long.
My 2nd pair, the male, didn't last very long, it had some infection & died.
The female is still doing well, & I got a replacement male. both doing good so far.

I have cardinals, rummy noses, cories, a couple of plecos all in this 3.5 ft tank. So I don't think its an issue about mixing them.

Feeding live food is a risk factor too.
